The back beat...
Every good business has a back beat... the rhythm that carries the story along, the foundation that a yarn is built on... well of course we have one too!
In Greenwich England, there is a place called the meridian. For all intent purposes, it's recognized by modern man as the point where time begins and ends. This historic location located on a large hill, is the place where people could say they have one foot in the present and one foot in the past.
Myridia was inspired from this simple yet profound experience. The spot where today and tomorrow come together, where you belly up to the bar amongst strangers and close out having made new friends. Our greatest features are the guests who pay us a visit day in and day out.
And since we're talking history, not too long ago, there was a nifty restaurant called kazu. Many people called it the international cheers, and even years later still recall how special the location was. Well one of the founders of kazu felt as though something along those lines needed to be in Nashville again. And from that revelation, the ball was set in motion.
Taking what was great about the old space (the bar and food) and working to enhance them both was no simple task... but first a location had to be secured. A long time resident of East Nashville, Kaz had always wanted to do something closer to home and in an area he enjoyed hanging in. The biggest concerns were, location, viability, amenities, and parking. The 5th and Main lofts offered an excellent and unique opportunity, and satisfied all Kaz's concerns.
Located on the cusp of both downtown and the front door of East Nashville, Myridia began to take life. On March 29th, 2012, Kaz's was issued his beer permit, and for all intent purposes was officially ready to turn on the open sign.
While the build out was being completed and the proper paperwork was being filed, a menu was being devised. Many of the flavors that helped make kazu restaurant so successful, had to be added to the menu. But with a modest sized kitchen, the balance of quality and quantity had to be kept at the forefront.
After tastings and trials and errors, a light menu was drafted. Filled with some old signature favorites as well as some new soon to be favorites, this menu was the best of all worlds. For those wanting substantial flavorful portions for dinner, we had them covered, and for those who simply needed to pair up their bottle of wine or pint of beer, we had them covered too.
And in the end, after the dust settled, what was left was truly the kind of place anyone could call theirs. Warm tones, recycled and reclaimed furniture, play nicely with the white seating area and concrete bar top. A splash of blue draws you towards the bar area, while the eclectic mix of music fills in all those awkward first date moments of silence.
Myridia, the spot between today and tomorrow. Open every day and typically serving quality nosh almost till close. We welcome you to top by anytime, singularly or plural, we will do our best to make every visit pleasant and personal.
Cheers.
